GenCyber Curriculum Requests-MSU

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to Mississippi's Public Records Act, I hereby request the following documents:

I request any and all available materials related to the GenCyber initiative as widely reported below:

These documents should include but not be limited to:
-a copy of the curriculum, lesson plans, and any relevant educational materials distributed to the students who participate in any N.S.A. and N.S.F. sanctioned GenCyber program
-any program instructor/teacher training materials
-Copies of the contract between the university and the N.S.A./N.S.F.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

Thank you for your prompt reply! Is there any way I could see a cost breakdown of the relevant documents so that I may exclude any unnecessary copies from my request? I am a journalist working on a story about the GenCyber camps and would be using the materials to serve the general public and not for commercial purposes. Thank you again for your assistance!

In the interest of condensing time and money spent on this, I would really love to pare down my request to a reasonable amount of documents. Is there a time when I could call your office and speak with someone about my request? I'm sure once I know what the relevant documents include (like how many are curriculum, manuals, etc.) I would be able to select only the items that I need and keep costs down on your end! Thank you again for following up with me and providing me with a fee estimate. Again, I would politely ask to see a cost breakdown so that I may adjust my request to best accommodate everyone involved. As a reporter working on a story about the GenCyber camps, my budget is pretty tight. For reference, I have received comparable documents (university contracts with the NSF, camp agendas, and activity schedules) from other universities (specifically the University of Florida, and Virginia Tech) free of charge.
