To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, I hereby request the following records:
- All data collected pursuant to Laws of Minnesota 2020, Chapter 82, section 5, subdivision 12a-b, including for each law enforcement agency, "the number of times a UAV was deployed without a search warrant; the date of each deployment; the authorized use for each deployment."
- All UAV Agency Data Collection form submissions received by the agency.
Note: We already have access to the legislative report. We are seeking the underlying data to the report. If this data exists as a machine readable format, such as a CSV, that would be our preferred medium.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Dear Mr. Maass, in response to your follow-up request for UAV data, the BCA is not authorized to release the data until confirmation is received from the local law enforcement agencies that none of the data regard active cases.
