Note to the detective: We understand that there is an active investigation into these incidents, and that it is of utmost importance not to release any information to the public that could jeopardize this investigation. The victim in this case, Patrick Tomlinson, is a public figure and there is immense public interest in finding the identity of the person who made these false police reports. Releasing the 911 audio is not likely to compromise any police procedures or discourage any witnesses from coming forward. On the contrary, with hundreds of eyes on the case, the audio will be dissected and compared with other similar swatting incidents committed against other people in other jurisdictions.
