To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:

(1) Any complaint that instruction, course content, lectures, written materials, or other activities violate Fla. Stat. 1000.05(4) or otherwise contain content prohibited by Fla. Stat. 1000.05(4). A complaint may be responsive to this request whether even if it does not expressly reference the statute (or "House Bill 7", "HB7", "HB 7", the "Stop WOKE Act", or the "Individual Freedom Act") so long as it pertains to the subject matter of Fla. Stat. 1000.05(4). For example, and not by limitation, a complaint may be relevant if it mentions the statute, its formal or informal names, or the words "race", "racist", "sexist", "oppressive", "woke", "wokeness", "morally superior", "virtues", "merit", "neutrality", "objectivity", "colorblind", or "colorblindness".

(2) Any records reflecting any investigation, inquiry, or outcome of any investigation or inquiry into course content, lectures, written materials, or other activities on the basis that content may violate Fla. Stat. 1000.05(4)(a) or (4)(b).

(3) Any directives, guidance, or instructions issued by administrators to faculty or departments concerning HB7 or Fla. Stat. 1000.05(4).

(4) A copy of any policy revised as a response to HB7 or Fla. Stat. 1000.05(4). Please provide both the policy before the revision and the policy after the revision.

This request is limited to complaints filed on or after January 11, 2022.

Please note that this request does not seek a search of faculty or student email accounts or records. These requests should in no way be construed to include a review or search of email accounts, websites, or other forms of data or document retention which are controlled by students, alumni, or faculty members, nor by governmental or advisory bodies controlled by the same (such as faculty senates), except insofar as any such individuals also serve in an administrative capacity and the records were created or are held by the individual in that capacity. Any search should be limited to documents held by the administration and/or its staff members, including records created or maintained by persons acting in the capacity of administrators or staff members.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Sincerely,

Adam Steinbaugh
