To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:

Listings of any and all people that let the Elections Division know of their interest in Candidacy or took out papers or filed paperwork for Elections in Massachusetts House of Representatives Boston Districts, Massachusetts House of Representative Districts that include Boston, Massachusetts Senate Boston Districts, and Massachusetts Senate Districts that include Boston.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Don Warner Saklad

Good Morning Mr. Saklad,

This Office has received your request for records relating to "listings of any and all people that let the Elections Division know of their interest in Candidacy or took out papers or filed paperwork for Elections in Massachusetts House of Representatives Boston Districts, Massachusetts House of Representative Districts that include Boston, Massachusetts Senate Boston Districts, and Massachusetts Senate Districts that include Boston."

Which specific elections are you interested in? It would be helpful to know the dates of the elections to better provide a response. Also, please be aware that candidates are not required to sign nomination papers out so our records may not reflect a complete list of candidates who took out papers.

Sincerely,

Good Afternoon Mr. Saklad,

Attached, please find the requested listings of people that signed out nomination papers for the upcoming special elections for the 16th Suffolk Representative District, the 13th Suffolk Representative District and the 2nd Suffolk Representative District. The papers are not yet available for the general election in November so those records do not exist.

Please note, candidates are not required to sign out the nomination papers so these records are not exhaustive lists of candidates running for these offices. For this particular response I scanned these paper records, these records are not maintained in an electronic form.

All fees associated with this response have been waived.

Sincerely,
