Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
I request all email communication within, to, and from your department and employees from August 1, 2020 to October 31, 2020 regarding any proposed or planned new women’s prison.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Public Records Division,
I would like to file an appeal for a public records request to the Department of Corrections. As you can see from the history of this request on Muckrock (https://www.muckrock.com/foi/massachusetts-1/emails-related-to-proposed-or-planned-new-womens-prison-aug-oct-2020-department-of-correction-108109), I requested the following records on 18 February 2021 but have not had any response from the DOC.

Please note that with respect to the Public Records Law, petitions for appeal of a lack of response provided must be provided within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of the original request. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1)(d). In correlation with your below email citing a request filed and dated February 14th, 2021, the ninety (90) calendar days to file an appeal pursuant to 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1)(d) is overdue.
Please file a new request with the respective agency or municipality of which they have ten (10) business days following the receipt of the request to provide a response. You may file a new appeal if you do not receive a response after ten (10) business days or are unsatisfied with the response provided.
