From: Natalie Kindred
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:
A full copy of all contracts and written agreements between Massachusetts's Education and the following companies:
Cambridge College, Lesley University
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Natalie Kindred

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on June 19, 2013. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
Thank you for your help.

Ms. Kindred,
I am in receipt of your request for records related to contracts between the MA Dept. of Elm. and Sec. Ed and Cambridge University or Leslie University. We plan to produce all responsive records to you as soon as possible, and free of charge.
As you may know, most contracts between the Commonwealth and private entities are listed on the MA comm-pass.com website. I have not yet reviewed this website to see if it contains any relevant contracts. Instead, I am trying to contact individual Department employees who may work with these Univeristies in different ways.
I'll keep you posted on what I find. If you have questions, feel free to contact me by use of the information listed below:
From: Varon, Joshua (DOE)
To Whom it May Concern:
On behalf of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (the "Department"), I write in response to your public record request seeking "a full copy of all contracts and written agreements between Massachusetts's Education and the following companies: Cambridge College and Leslie University."
Although I am not clear as to the exact records you seek, I have attempted to respond to your request as best as possible. The first two documents, attached in .pdf format, contain notices of approval for Cambridge College and Leslie University to provide educator preparation programs pursuant to G.L. c. 71, §38G and 603 CMR 7.00 et seq. The third document, attached as an excel spreadsheet, contains information about Department issued procurements to which Leslie University has successfully applied. To peruse the details of these procurements, please visit www.comm-pass.com<http://www.comm-pass.com>. The yellow highlighted column in the spreadsheet contains the RFR number/ document number with which you can search the Comm-Pass website for details of the procurement, including a copy of the RFR, the proposal, and several other types of information. The Department possesses no similar records with respect to Cambridge College.
I hope you find this helpful. If I have failed to infer from your public record request the exact documents you seek, please feel free to contact me for further assistance by use of the information listed below. Of course, I have no right to inquire as to the reason for your request, but if the attached records do not satisfy it any additional information you can provide will help me to identify the exact records you are looking for. The Department endeavors to respond to all public record requests in a timely fashion, and by producing records free of charge. Again, please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Finally, please be advised that if you wish to challenge this response, you may appeal to the Supervisor of Public Records following the procedure contained in 950 CMR 32.08.
