To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

The Maryland Judiciary Case Search (MJCS) provides detailed listings of case records which vary in format and layout according to a classification displayed in each case record's URL. For example, the following case uses the classification "DSCIVIL", as seen in its URL: http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/casesearch/inquiryDetail.jis?caseId=0502SP050012017&loc=20&detailLoc=DSCIVIL.

I would like to request a list of all of these classifications, and the types of court records they pertain to (e.g. types of cases and which county district, circuit, and appeals courts they refer to, if any). The following is a non-exhaustive list of classifications I have seen in the MJCS:

PGV
MCCR
ODYTRAF
ODYCIVIL
ODYCRIM
DSK8
DSCP
DSCIVIL
MCCI
CC
DSTRAF
K
PG
DSCR
DV
ODYCVCIT

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires, as the statute requires. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer than this amount of time, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.

Sincerely,

Dan Staples

Thank you very much for fulfilling my request. For the classifications that refer to MDEC cases, are these cases in both the Case Search system and MDEC system? Will all the cases in Case Search be available in MDEC when all Maryland counties switch over to MDEC?
