Hello,

I would strongly prefer to receive these records electronically (or mailed to Muckrock's business address otherwise) as making the in-person trip to retrieve records in person would be highly burdensome to me and likely necessitate a full day of driving. The guidance in the Maryland Attorney General's manual about the PIA indicates records may be sent by mail when the requester is unavailable to pick them up personally, and I believe that applies to this request. Would your agency be willing to accept a mailed check to pay for this request, and if so, would electronically sending the records reduce any of the costs involved (such as in purchasing physical media storage)?

Thanks,
Christopher Schiano

From: Maryland National Capital Park Police

Hello,
We will be able to accommodate your request. Once payment has been received, the records will be uploaded to the Muckrock portal. The cost of the media storage device of $4.00 will not be included in the final cost. Please send $200.00 in the form of a cashier's check or money order made payable to the "Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission" to the below address.

Hello Mr. Schiano,
I submitted a response through your portal but wanted to also follow up via email. Your request to receive the PIA records electronically has been approved. Once payment is received, the documents will be uploaded through the portal. The cost of the storage media has been subtracted from the total cost which is now $200.00. Please send a cashiers check or money order payable to The Maryland-National Capital Park Police.
