Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Incident reports, alerts, notifications, and any other materials containing the term “Bark” or related to Bark-generated alerts. Materials responsive to this request would be all records related to an alert from the Bark system, a platform used to monitor student activity online and on school-provided devices. Materials may have come directly from the Bark platform or from a school or a school representative.

If you have any questions about this request or are unsure of the platform or type of materials I am requesting, please contact me, and I would be happy to provide additional clarification.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

The City of Marion has received your below Public Information Act request pursuant to Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code via electronic mail. This matter has been referred to the City Attorney's office for further review. Pursuant to section 552.222(b) of the Texas Government Code, please provide clarifying information, to allow further consideration into whether the City has responsive record(s).

You've requested: "Incident reports, alerts, notifications, and any other materials containing the term "Bark" or related to Bark-generated alerts. Materials responsive to this request would be all records related to an alert from the Bark system, a platform used to monitor student activity online and on school-provided devices. Materials may have come directly from the Bark platform or from a school or a school representative."

However, in order to proceed with such request, the City needs clarity on the platform and type of information being sought. Once the City obtains answers to its clarifying inquiry, pursuant to section 552.222(b), it can further respond accordingly to your request.

Your response to this request for clarifying information should be provided no later than the 60th day after receipt of this request for such information, to me via electronic mail, since your request was initially received by the City via electronic mail. If by the 61st date, the requested information above is not received, then your request to the City under the Public Information Act will be considered to be withdrawn by you, for failure to timely respond to this request for clarifying information. See Section 552.222 (f) or (g).

Please note that your request cannot be processed until the above requested identifying information is received, thereby effectively pausing the time period the City has to respond to your Public Information Request (10-business days pursuant to Section 552.301(b) of the Texas Government Code).
