Pursuant to the state open records law, Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann. Secs. 39-121 to 39-122 and 39-128, I hereby request the following records:
By means of the following, I request any and all official documents relating to how many immigration operations have been launched by the Maricopa Sheriff's department in the period consisting of FY 2001-2012. Please advise on how many felons, criminals using false social security numbers and illegal immigrants have been arrested and/or detained and turned over to federal authorities during that period. Please include their nationalities.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

Thank you for contacting the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Your public records request has been received by our Legal Liaison unit and placed in queue in the order in which it was received.
These requests can take several days or longer to process. You will be contacted by someone in the Media Relations Office once the records are pulled and if necessary, redacted by the Legal Liaisons.
Please remember, there is a charge for public records. They are:
50 cents per page with a $5.00 minimum.
If you requested an audio or video record, the cost is $15.00 each.
The Sheriff's Office accepts cash or money orders made payable to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office as payment at the time of pickup.

Unfortunately we do not have any data related to how many immigration operations that have been launched as we do not conduct immigration operations. We do maintain numbers on Employer Sanction Operations where the data you are looking for (criminals using false social security numbers, etc) would stem from. If that is the data you are looking for, please amend your request and resubmit to media.prr@mcso.maricopa.gov and we will start processing it as soon as possible. Also please confirm that you are looking for Fiscal year 2001 to 2012.

Thank you for the correction. I request a list of all Employer Sanction Operations launched by the sheriff's office between FY 2001-2012. Please provide the name of the businesses that were verified as well as the number of persons detained for posession of fraudulent documents, type of fraudulent document detected, or other illegal acts contemplated under Employer Sanction Operations.
