Mr Parr,

This data request is for a national research project on how states respond to and track cases of missing Native Americans. We will report that the Maine state police does not have information on missing Native Americans within their jurisdiction readily available, cannot produce it, and cannot tell us which agency would be able to do so.

Thank you for your time,
Annita

From: Maine State Police

Annita:

Good morning, and thank you for your email.

To clarify our response to your FOAA request: The Maine State Police simply does not have a record that includes all of the information in it that you are requesting. We would need to conduct research and then create a new record in order to respond to your request.

The FOAA does not require agencies to create records in order to respond to requests for records.

Respectfully, C

Chris
