Dear L. Salveatk:
Thank you for your public records request dated July 20, 2020 regarding transcripts involving Lori Norene Vallow/Daybell, including phone calls, video calls, voice messages, detailed/itemized list of purchases made through commissary directed to the Madison County Department of Corrections (DOC). The DOC forwarded the request to my office, as I am the prosecutor in this case.
While I am committed to being as transparent as possible in this matter, we have a legal and ethical obligation to protect the integrity of the investigation and the defendants’ rights to a fair trial. Therefore, we are limited in what information can be disclosed and discussed at this time.
Accordingly, we are denying your request for the information you requested at this time pursuant to Idaho Code Ann. Sections 74-124 Exemptions From Disclosure – Confidentiality.
Please note that you have the right to contest this decision under Idaho Code Ann. Section 74-115 within 180 days from the date of this letter.
