To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Kentucky Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting the following about information of a trip between the Louisville Metro Police and the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) for the "Anti-Defamation League National Counter-Terrorism Seminar"
Specifically, I am requesting:
- Any and all records about invoices and payments made to cover the cost of this trip
- Documents sufficient to show which officers received this training
- Documents sufficient to show how the trip was paid for
- Documents sufficient to show if officers have gone on similar trips in the last five years
- Documents sufficient to show communications between the Louisville Metro Police, ADL, and if available, other offices such as the mayor's office.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
Please find attached two responsive records for your ORR. Please note that the attending officer, Kenton Buckner, retired from the LMPD nearly four years ago.
This office has been advised that no expense / invoice records or communication with the ADL could be located.
First, thank you for your quick reply! As for communication between the ADL and Louisville Metro Police, it'd be easier to search through the metadata of the attending officer, Kenton Buckner, and any outgoing/incoming e-mails from an @adl.org e-mail. Usually there would be be a registration form for the event, as well as invoices if the Louisville Metro Police decided to fund the trip. For an example of what the registration form for the trip would look like, and the inovices, I have this copy of the Chicago Police Department's responsive documents, which includes emails between CPD and @adl.org. https://cdn.muckrock.com/foia_files/2018/03/28/P434369__________REDACTED_FINAL_REPORTS.pdf
If these documents could be found, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for your time,
