Pursuant to the the Louisiana Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Policies, procedures and/or training documents pertaining to the execution of death row inmates.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Please consider this a response to your public records request (see attached) directed to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections, which was received by that office on August 5, 2015. You have requested "policies, procedures and/or training documents pertaining to the execution of death row inmates." In effect, the specific documentation you are seeking constitutes Louisiana's execution protocol. You are advised by this e-mail that the execution protocol is not considered a public record based upon Louisiana Revised Statute 44:3 and Louisiana Revised Statute 15:570, which is incorporated by reference in Louisiana Revised Statute 44:4.1(B)(8). Accordingly, there are no public documents that are responsive to your request.
