Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
The race and gender breakdown for all Los Angeles Fire Department hiring classes in calendar years 2017 and 2018. I request the statistics for each step of the hiring process that is tracked, including the initial applications, the personnel department hires and the ultimate boot camp graduates. This data has been routinely released in the past.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Ben:
The City did not accept applications for Firefighters in 2017 so we can
only 2018 application data.
While we track and have included appointment data, the Los Angeles Fire
Department who actually does the appointing is the best source for correct
information. Also, the Personnel Department does not maintain Drill Tower
graduation data, you will need to request that form the Fire Department as
well.
