To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California's Sunshine Amendment (Cal. Const. Art. I, § 3(b)), I hereby request the following records:

All electronic correspondence between the LAPD (particularly Police Chief Charlie Beck) and members of the Central City Association of Los Angeles regarding laws, ordinances and enforcement policies that affect the homeless living in the city.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

I have received your California Public Records Act request for Los
Angeles Police Department (the Department) records pertaining to
homeless individuals.

Please be advised that, pursuant to Government Code Section 6253(c), I
have found that “unusual circumstances” exist with respect to the
request due to the need to search for, collect, and review the requested
records from other Department entities which are separate from the
office processing the request. Therefore, my staff will require the
additional fourteen days+ extension of time in which to respond. A
determination concerning your request will be made as soon as possible.
