To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California's Sunshine Amendment (Cal. Const. Art. I, § 3(b)), I hereby request the following records:

All electronic correspondence between the mayor's office and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce regarding laws and enforcement policies that affect the homeless living in the city.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Aaron Cantú

1. The original request will apply to all relevant email correspondence from January 2012 to the present (May 2014).

2. It may help to use certain key words to search through emails. Here is a sampling of words and phrases that could be used:

Mr. Goldfisher,

Unfortunately, this response does not satisfy the original request. What you have sent is a short correspondence between an attorney from Kindel Gagan (representing the Central City East Association) and Susan Kim of the city. The request was for members of the Chamber of Commerce and the mayor's office. The original request is copied below:

"All electronic correspondence between the mayor's office and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce regarding laws and enforcement policies that affect the homeless living in the city."

As of now, the request remains unfulfilled. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you.

Best,
Aaron
