Dear sirs:

I received your letter of September 3, 2018, regarding a California Public
Records Act (CPRA) request you submitted to the City Attorney's Office on
September 7, 2016. I believe my Office satisfied your request back in 2016,
but I am trying to confirm that and will require additional time to do so.
I will have a final response to you at least by September 27--and, I hope,
well before then.

If it turns out that I am mistaken, and my Office did not satisfy your
request back in 2016, please accept my apologies. In that case I shall make
sure my Office does so as soon as it practically can.

Thank you for your continuing patience. I appreciate it.

Dear sirs:

My apologies that it has taken a long time to get back to you. It took a
long time to determine that, it appears, we failed to produce documents to
you before. We are in the process of collecting documents to satisfy your
request. I estimate it will take another month before we have the document
ready to produce to you.

Mr. Cantu,

Please find attached the non-exempt documents in response to your Public
Records Act requests concerning Freeport McMoRan or Breitburn. My apologies
that this took a while, but we we looking to make sure we located all of
the responsive records. (The production may be over-inclusive, as we erred
on the side of producing all non-exempt documents even mentioning Freeport
McMoRan or Breitburn.) Note that some documents are entirely attorney
work-product privileged, and have been withheld, and others are partially
work-product privileged, and have been redacted, per the exemption in
Government Code section 6254(k).
