From: Paxtyn Merten

Hello Mr. Gaydowski,

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

• A copy of the bid submitted by Los Angeles in response to Amazon's request for proposals for the site of its second headquarters — document(s) which would have been sent between September 1, 2017 through January 20, 2018 — and any supplemental materials provided to Amazon at the same time.

Other finalist cities have provided us with the bids they submitted, and they typically look something like this: https://www.muckrock.com/foi/boston-3/amazon-hq2-bid-44971/#file-161828

Please provide responsive materials on a rolling basis. If you have any questions, you can reach us at 617-299-1832.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Paxtyn Merten

From: Los Angeles City Clerk

Hello Mr. Merten,

I apologize if I failed to respond to your prior request, but I cannot find
your prior request in my inbox now. We have had several requests for the
Amazon HQ proposal and possibly I confused your request with one of the
others.

In any case, the City Clerk's Office is only the keeper of records for the
City Council and the City's proposal and any supporting documentation were
not submitted to the City Council. I believe the proposal was prepared by
the Mayor's office or by outside entities, such as Los Angeles County and
the Los Angeles Economic

The City Council did pass two motions on the matter that might be of
interest to you, which you can see through our Council File Management
System:
https://cityclerk.lacity.org/lacityclerkconnect/index.cfm?fa=ccfi.viewrecord&cfnumber=17-1017

https://cityclerk.lacity.org/lacityclerkconnect/index.cfm?fa=ccfi.viewrecord&cfnumber=17-1017-S1

You can contact the Mayor's Office at:

MAYOR OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES
(213) 978-0600
200 N. Spring Street Room 303 Los Angeles, CA 90012
Or through their website at:
Internet: http://mayor.lacity.org/

The County of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Economic Development
Corporation are not City entities and therefore not listed on the City's
website but you should be able to find their contact information through an
internet search.

For future reference the City Clerk's Office now uses the City's public
records request portal which will allow you to submit records requests
directly to a number of City departments and will help ensure that your
request is directed to the appropriate City source:
https://recordsrequest.lacity.org/

Good luck in your search and please contact me if you have any questions of
the City Clerk's Office.
