Dear Records Officer,

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request arrest and complaints or request for assistance information for the following case numbers:

1) 100058775
2) 110008419
3) 130014714
4) 130059534
5) 130064264
6) 150034514
7) 160041171
8) 160062718

In addition, I am requesting arrest and complaint or request for assistance information for the following gun thefts cases. We identified these cases through an examination of data provided by your agency. The data did not include the case numbers. However, it did include the make and serial number of the firearm as well as the date on which it was reported stolen. These weapons were recovered in connection to the homicide cases listed above. Please provide all available information for the thefts involving the following firearms:

1) Mossberg, bearing serial number K099493, reported stolen on or about 3/07/2013
2) Amadeo Rossi & Co., bearing serial number YE306676, reported stolen on or about 12/23/2010

The information subject to disclosure includes “[t]he full name and occupation of every individual arrested by the agency, the individual's physical description including date of birth, color of eyes and hair, sex, height and weight, the time and date of arrest, the time and date of booking, the location of the arrest, the factual circumstances surrounding the arrest, the amount of bail set, the time and manner of release or the location where the individual is currently being held, and all charges the individual is being held upon, including any outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions and parole or probation holds.” Gov’t Code § 6254(f)(1).

In addition, agencies should disclose “the time, substance, and location of all complaints or requests for assistance received by the agency and the time and nature of the response thereto, including, to the extent the information regarding crimes alleged or committed or any other incident investigated is recorded, the time, date, and location of occurrence, the time and date of the report, the name and age of the victim, the factual circumstances surrounding the crime or incident, and a general description of any injuries, property, or weapons involved.” Gov’t Code § 6254(f)(2).
