Communications

From: Brooke Williams

Dear La Habra Heights City Clerk,

Pursuant to the California's Sunshine Amendment (Cal. Const. Art. I, § 3(b)), I hereby request the following records, which I understand to be in possession of agencies within your city that have, in any way, contracted or otherwise hired Helix Environmental:

Any and all documents, including but not limited to invoices and contracts that mention, refer to and/or discuss Sarichia Cacciatore, otherwise known as Seekey Cacciatore, a current or former employee of Helix Environmental. Please include but not limit this request to the following search terms: “Sarichia Cacciatore”, “Seekey Cacciatore,” “Seekey,” “seekeyc@helixepi.com,” “seekey@briggslawcorp.com,” and “seekey.cacciatore@gmail.com.”

2) Any and all communication between any city employee of a La Habra Heights agency that has contracted with or currently contracts with (or in any way hires) Helix Environmental and Sarichia Cacciatore.

This request is narrow by nature, as it seeks public records pertaining to only one individual at one company that does business with the city. It doesn’t include a time frame, and I ask that you please search your records as far back in time as they exist.

Please provide these documents as they are compiled.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of our work at inewsource, a nonprofit investigative journalism center. I am a member of the press, and this request is not being made for commercial usage.

I ask that you please provide the records in their original, electronic format.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your time and commitment to an open and transparent government process. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Brooke Williams

Here are 4 reasons why should come to the Senior Scam Stopper Seminar at La Habra Heights City Hall tomorrow (November 9, 2016) at 10AM to 12PM! Feel free to share with your friends. (http://www.lhhcity.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=389&Itemid=92)
1 in 5 seniors have been a victim of fraud Ever receive a phone call from the IRS demanding money? Got your mail stolen? Contractor over-charge you? You may have already been a victim of a scam. Come and find out how you can report these scams and stop them before anyone else gets hurt. Seniors hold approximately 70% of the wealth and tend to be more polite. Scammers know that seniors tend to be wealthier and more polite. To get you to give them money, many unlicensed operators knock on your door or call claiming work has to be done. Property owners don’t bid out themselves or call the city to see what requires a permit, which gives a contractor the ability to surge costs of the work.  That’s a red flag. Stolen mail could mean something more serious Thieves usually break into mailboxes for sensitive information, and sometimes, wash out checks and cash them into their own bank account. Learn what the Los Angeles DA has to say about it. Get your questions answered Each department speaking knows how scams are changing and targeting seniors. It is their job to understand how scams work and help people protect themselves from them. Ask questions to see how you can protect yourself.
Please come by City Hall on November 9, 2016 from 10AM to 12PM. City Hall is located at 1245 N. Hacienda Road La Habra Heights, CA 90631. City Hall is located between the La Habra Heights County Water District and the La Habra Heights Preschool. Parking is available in the front and rear party of City Hall. Panelist and city staff will be more than willing to listen and help you. If you have any questions, please call 562-694-8283 ext 323.
