To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to RCW Ch. 42.56 (Public Records Act), I hereby request the following records:
Full and complete database of automatic vehicle location (AVL) data in its native electronic format, with related metadata, including database schema.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
Hello Mr. Mocek,
This is to acknowledge your request dated July 10, 2013 for records.
Our office is reviewing the request and, pursuant to Chapter 42.56 RCW, we estimate that it will take until August 1, 2013 to determine whether we have records that are responsive to your request, and to determine whether any of these records are exempt from disclosure.
We will disclose records incrementally, if necessary, after they have been identified and reviewed. Thank you for your interest in the Port of Seattle!
To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on July 10, 2013. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
Thank you for your help.
This is a response to complete your request. We currently do not have AVL database data available. Our AVL capability has not worked consistently or dependently in several years and has not been used for tracking vehicles. If you have questions about the records, feel free to contact Jason Kelly in Public Affairs at 206.787.6406. Please let us know if we can assist you any further.
