Pursuant to Alabama's Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

All Stand Your Ground motions that have been filed by defendants in judicial district 10 since January 1, 2006.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

Mike,

I received your public records request and understand you to be requesting all “Stand Your Ground” motions filed by defendants in the 10th Judicial Circuit since January 1, 2006. Those motions were filed by the individual defense attorneys with the Jefferson County Circuit Clerk’s Office and therefore our office does not have the original motions in our possession. Those would have to be requested from the Circuit Clerk’s Office. Further, our office does not have a way to search for those motions in our files. Thanks.
