Pursuant to the Iowa Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
For all non-personal emails accounts in use by the governor and its staff, please provide me the all emails sent and received between March 5 2018 and March 9, 2018.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Thanks for reaching out to our office. It is my understanding you are
seeking all emails sent to or from the Office of the Governor dated between
March 5, 2018 and March 9, 2018.
Our office charges for open records requests. Our office provides three
free hours of staff review time and ten pages in hard copy without charge.
Above that, our office charges $33/hour for additional staff review time
and ten cents per additional hard copy page.
Please confirm that my understanding of your records request is accurate,
and that you understand and accept our office's records charging policy.

Is there any way that you could provide a cost estimate?

Matt,
The technology office did a preliminary search for potentially responsive
emails. Their statement to me is below:
*The initial number started at 7543 but when duplicates are removed you end
up with a total of 5655. *
Using our non-binding estimating formula, we typically predict we can
review around 70/emails per hour. At 5655 emails, it would take around
80.78 hours to review. We provide three free hours of staff review time,
but charge $33/hour for additional review efforts. A non-binding estimate
for just review time alone (not including any potential hard copy charges
for documents that might have to be redacted and produced in hard copy)
would amount to approximately $2,566.92.
Please let me know if you would like to proceed with this request as
stated.
