The 2019 log of exit and entry for all people detained at jails and other detention facilities overseen by this department that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following info:

-Indication of exit or entry
-Time of exit or entry
-Date of exit or entry
-Reason for exit or entry (e.g. release, transfer, medical, or court hearing)
Data should include all entries for the 2019 calendar year. I can accept this record in whatever data format is easiest to export, including CSV, Excel file formats, and the database itself.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Your request has been received, however the scope of your request is so large in nature that it will take many, many hours to compile and most likely cost thousands of dollars. At the very least each name would need to be vetted to ensure that each person was actually charged, as this facility accepts arrests from numerous law enforcement agencies. We have a responsibility to protect those whose names should not be released to the public for that reason.

Thank you for your response. I have reviewed the cost itemization, and it looks like the bulk of the labor is for redacting names. In Michigan, the names of arrestees are not exempted from public record, based on the ruling in Rataj v City of Romulus, which states that disclosure is warranted, even of arrest record, because governmental accountability outweighs individual privacy and names are not of a personal nature exempt from disclosure.
Additionally, I am not requesting any additional personal information, such as address. Please let me know what the cost itemization is without the cross-reference and redaction.
