Responsive materials include those for matters and legal claims resolved prior to the initiation of any litigation.

In particular, materials responsive to this request include all reports, lists, databases, spreadsheets, and other documentation detailing incidents of legal claims or other allegations requiring compensation for claimants, attorneys, or any other party.

If spreadsheets or similar documents are available in response to this request, please provide all segregable data, including but not limited to:

The nature of the claim or legal matter
The claimant and other parties involved
The relevant case and tracking numbers for court and internal systems
The date the lawsuit was served or litigation commenced
The final disposition or current status of the case, including whether a case is still pending
The amount spent to date as a result of the legal engagement
The amount paid to any parties related to the legal claim, including any city payout and any non-monetary compensation

Your request will be forwarded to the relevant city or county agency for review and a determination of whether there are public records responsive to your request and, if so, whether those public records are disclosable to you. We have received your request, and your acknowledgement (which is the response due within 7 days) was automatically sent to you through this portal. Your request was transferred to this office as we serve as legal counsel to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and we maintain records on tort claim and litigation settlements.  We have received many requests for similar information over the past several weeks and are working through them in the order received.
I wanted to advise you in particular that our records prior to March 2016, when the current management staff came on board, may not be available.  We may also  not have all of the data points you listed in your request but will do our best to provide you with any disclosable documents, such as settlement agreements that will provide you with some of that information.
