Mr. Slemp,
I’m writing in response to your open records request for student email addresses. Under the Indiana Access to Public Records Act (“APRA”), Indiana University (“IU”) is prohibited from providing lists of names and addresses (including email account addresses) of employees and students to any commercial entity for commercial purposes. Furthermore, such a list may not be used by commercial entities for commercial purposes. I.C. 5-14-3-3(f). In the request you submitted, you stated “this request is being made for commercial purposes.” Accordingly, your request is denied. Thank you!
