Sir,

Are you referring to Don Huber, Professor of Botany and Plant Pathology?

Once I receive this clarification, your request will be processed in accordance with Indiana’s Access to Public Records Act. Please know that requests for emails, such as your request, are usually very time-consuming. Our IT team has to perform the search, which can take weeks. Additionally, once the IT search results are complete, I need to read every email to make sure I do not release anything in violation of the law. If you are interested in adding search terms for the recipient/sender names in order to narrow the search, that could help expedite things a bit. Please know that, depending on the volume of emails, I expect this request will take months to complete. I apologize for that inconvenience.

Thank You!

Any of the following terms found in the body or subject: "GMO", "genetically", "Monsanto", "transgenic", "biotech", "biotechnology", and/or "glyphosate".

A separate search for gmolist@googlegroups.com. It may be found in the to/from fields, cc, or in the body of the emails.

As an emeritus professor doesn't he still have active email?

From: Daniels, Abby K

Sir,

While he may still have access to a Purdue.edu email account, Professor Huber’s email account is not subject to the Access to Public Records Act. The first section of the Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code 5-14-3-1 states,
“…it is the public policy of the state that all persons are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent them as public officials and employees.”

Professor Huber is not a public employee at Purdue University. Nor is he performing official acts for Purdue.

Thank you!
