I wanted to follow up on the following Florida Sunshine Law request, copied below, and originally submitted on July 12, 2019. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response. You had assigned it reference number #11716.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
From: Indian River County Sheriff's Department
As an update to this request, for clarification purposes regarding this request, as to Number 3, “A copy of all complaints reported by civilians against deputies between 2013-2018.” And #4 “A copy of any documents indicating whether the civilian complaints identified in request #3 were sustained”, upon a cursory review of the requested information, there is in excess of over 100 Citizen Complaints that need to be completed and redacted in their entirety.
The #4 request would be completed in the #3 request, as each file will advise the outcome.
This will require extensive clerical time to complete. I am unable to give an exact figure, as I do not know how many pages are in each file that will be required to be reviewed for redaction purposes; however, based upon previous history of these types of requests, I would estimate that this request could take approximately 40 to 60 or more clerical hours just for the Citizen Complaints section of this request.

In reference to PRR 11716, due to circumstances that have occurred over the past month, including the State of Emergency declared by Governor Ron DeSantis due to Hurricane Dorian, this is taking a bit longer for us to complete. We apologize for the delay. We are working as efficiently as we can to process your request.
Thank you for your patience.
