Persuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:

I seek any and all reports of wrongdoing, fraud, corruption, or waste within the RTA, CTA, Metra, or Pace submitted by a whistle blower according to the policy outlined here: http://www.rtachicago.com/images/stories/final_RTA_imgs/Statement%20Whistleblower%20Protection.pdf.

I seek reports submitted via the webform (found here: http://www.rtachicago.com/secure/), reports submitted via the RTA intranet, reports made by RTA employees to their supervisors, reports made by employees or third parties through the RTA’s hotline at (312) 913-5522, and reports made by any other means.

I also seek the log of complaints which tracks their receipt, investigation, and resolution maintained by the RTA Ethics Officer.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, a public body may extend the time to respond to a FOIA request by up to 5 business days for a limited number of reasons. We are extending the time to respond to your request by 5 business days
because we cannot comply with the request for records within the 5 business day time limit without unduly burdening or interfering with our operations 5 ILCS 140/3(e)(vi).

In response to your request, please be advised that any documents responsive to your request are exempt from disclosure pursuant to Sections 7(1)(m) and 7.5(h) of the Freedom of Information Act and Section 5 ILCS 430/25-95 of the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act.

Should you feel the response provided constitutes a denial of any part of your request, Section 9 of the FOIA affords you the right to seek review by appealing this denial in writing to the Public Access Counselor, Office of the Attorney General, 500 S. 2nd Street, Springfield, Illinois 62706 or by e-mail at publicaccess@atg.state.il.us. Section 11 of the FOIA also affords you the right to judicial review.
