Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:

- The contract, memorandum of understanding or agreement that established the NVIDIA CUDA Center of Excellence at University of Illinois UC, which was announced in 2008. The center's creation is outlined here: https://developer.nvidia.com/academia/centers/university-illinois-ccoe
- Any yearly reports, memos or press releases summarizing activity at the center between 2008 and 2014.
-Any documents detailing changes to the original contract/agreement.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

I am writing to invoke an extension of the deadline for responding to the request under the following section(s) of the Act, which allow for additional time when:

* 140/3(e)(i) the requested records are stored in whole or in part at other locations than the office
* 140/3(e)(vi) the request for records cannot be complied with by the public body within the time limits prescribed by paragraph (c) of this Section without unduly burdening or interfering with the operations of the public body.

I am taking the additional five days allowed by law to review information. The revised deadline will now be February 19.

Information responsive to your request is available and attached. These are public documents numbering 26 pages. Please note, for points 1 and 3 of your request, a search was conducted and no records could be located.

Portions of these documents have been redacted pursuant to the following section(s) of the Act:

* 140/7(1)(a) that exempts from disclosure "Information specifically prohibited from disclosure by federal or State law or rules and regulations implementing adopted under federal or State law." Specifically, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. ยง1232g) protects the privacy of student education records and prohibits the release of any information from a student's education record without the consent of the eligible student. Under this exemption, the names of students were redacted from the documents.

* 140/7(1)(c) that exempts from disclosure "Personal information contained within public records, the disclosure of which, if disclosed, would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy, unless the disclosure is consented to in writing by the individual subjects of the information." This includes student information.
