Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

A list of all schools or school districts in Illinois that have been victims of ransomware attacks in 2021 through July 31st. If possible, I'd like the school/district name, date of attack and the ransomware strain involved.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

If possible, I'd like the school/district name, date of attack and the ransomware strain involved."
Having reviewed your request, we are able to inform you that we are uncertain whether or not we are the custodian of the requested records. If it is determined we are the custodian of the requested record and there is a cost to fulfill your request, I will provide you with an update including an estimated cost by 16 August 2021, if not sooner.

Having reviewed your request, we are able to inform you that the Oregon Department of Education does not formally collect data on ransomware attacks in OR so there is no list responsive to the request. Thus, we are not the custodian due to not having any responsive records.
