To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
This request should be directed to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Humboldt County Planning and Building Departments. I am seeking the following as they pertain to the above agencies:
- A record of public records requests submitted to each agency that lists the date of request, the requester's name, the requester's organizational affiliation, a description of the request and the county's response for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018.
- Records of policies/procedures related to processing and approval/denial processes for public records requests used in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018. We are interested in obtaining the policies for each agency, if they have their own policies, as well as the county’s policy.
- Records of total direct revenue and expenses (i.e., no including overhead) relating to the processing of public records requests in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Mr. Ruck. We are in receipt of your records request and are in the process of gathering the information requested. I am not certain that we can meet the five day deadline, especially considering that Friday, October 25 is a State holiday recognizing Nevada Day.

Good Morning Mr. Scripps,
Thank you for your inquiry about a Request for Public Records. Here at the
Humboldt County Building and the Planning Departments we do not have a
formal request policy for information. The information that we currently
retain is all public information and is usually requested and processed
either face to face, over the phone or by emails. We have not had the need
for formal requests in writing or otherwise as we are able to process the
question and/or request usually at the time someone has questions or are
researching the public records we have on file. We currently do not track
any requests, time or resources spent to provide the information to any
requestor as part of our customer service objectives. I believe at this time
we do not have or can provide you the general request you are presenting.
If there is some information that you are requesting that needs more direct
clarification feel free to contact us for that specific information.
