To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Emails sent between Freeholder O'Dea's personal email address which he uses for government work (firstname.lastname@example.org) that are related to official business in his role of Hudson County Freeholder between January 2015 and June 2020.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.
I am in receipt of your record request regarding " e-mail communications either sent or received by Freeholder O'Dea and relating to official business for the period January 2015 through June 2020". Please note that your request, as written, is overly vague as it fails to seek specific identifiable government records. As such, your request is denied. Please feel free, however, to contact me at (202) 795-6250 or via e-mail at email@example.com<mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org> should you wish to discuss the possibility narrowing down your search. I would be more than happy to discuss same.
Very Truly Yours
Neil J. Carroll, Jr.
Hudson County Adjuster
