Kent Jacobs emails - town of Hope Mills

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to North Carolina Public Records Law (G.S. §§ 132-1 through 132-10), I hereby request the following documents:

All emails and corresponding attachments sent to (to:, cc:, or bcc:) the official and publicly listed email address for mayor of Hope Mills (jwarner@townofhopemills.com) where the email contains the following keywords in the subject line or body of the email: “Unfound podcast”, “Unfound”, “Kent Jacobs” or “Mr. Jacobs”. The time frame for this search is from August 4th of 2017 until the date that this request is received.

Jackie Warner, the mayor of Hope Mills, has a publicly listed email address on the Town of Hope Mills website:

Mayor Warner’s email address was also given at the end of a podcast about missing persons, along with an encouragement to politely contact Hope Mills officials about the case of Kent Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs was a mentally disabled person who went missing many years ago. The inference from the podcast is that the search for this man’s body is being stymied by cost considerations related to environmental cleanup costs.

I am eager to read correspondence related to this case, and believe that the release of this correspondence is in the public interest.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
