Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
* Any correspondence, memos, reports, or documents shared between the Superintendent and the Virginia School Board Association regarding collective bargaining
* Any correspondence, memos, reports, or documents shared between School Board members and the Virginia School Board Association regarding collective bargaining
* Any documents received by the Superintendent or school board members related to participation in the VSBA Collective Bargaining Workshop held in Charlottesville on December 7th, 2021
I am happy to treat these requests as segregable and to receive information or documentation as it becomes available.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

I will also work to provide you with an estimate of the time and costs associated with your request, if applicable.
As outlined in § 2.2-3704 (B), "a request for public records shall identify the requested records with reasonable specificity." To this end, will you please provide a specific date range for the records you are seeking so we can narrow our search?

Thank you for the clarification. I will work with our IT Department and others to determine how much time it will take to search for and supply any records that may exist in this regards and provide you with a cost estimate, if applicable.

Dear Mr. Nash,
Thank you for your patience while we calculated an estimate of the time and costs associated with your request, as required by § 2.2-3704 (F)<https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title2.2/chapter37/section2.2-3704/> of the Code of Virginia.
Based on the scope of the search that you requested, we estimate that it will take our Director of Information Technology approximately 1 hour to search for and produce any records that may be responsive to your request. As a result, we have estimated that the cost to respond to your request will be approximately $68.33. This cost is calculated based upon the amount of time needed to search for and supply the requested records at the employee’s hourly rate.
Please advise as to how you would like to proceed with your request.

We responded to you on October 14 and 20 with an estimate of the costs associated with your request, but we received no reply. I’ve included the relevant emails below for easy reference. Yesterday, however, our accounts receivable notified me that you submitted payment in response to this estimate, which was not required. In light of this, we will move forward with your request and respond to you within the requisite time frame, as outline in the Code of Virginia.

Attached are the records that are responsive to your records request regarding the Virginia School Boards Association and collective bargaining, as outlined in your recent request under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.
I have also attached a final invoice with regard to this request for the staff time required to review and prepare all records, as outlined and permitted as outlined in § 2.2-3704 (F) of the Code of Virginia. This is due upon receipt and in addition to the previous payment you submitted on November 8 for $68.33. As a reminder, we accept checks, and you may also pay using our online payment system (directions attached) if that’s more convenient.
