Pursuant to Open Public Records Act ("OPRA"), I hereby request the following records:
Any and all police reports and records which make reference to the "Jersey Devil," "The Leeds Devil," and other unidentified or supposed paranormal creatures.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

Please be advised that with regard to your OPRA request for police reports which make reference to "Jersey Devil", "The Leeds Devil, and other unidentified or suppose paranormal creatures, that the law does not allow OPRA to be used as a research tool, which in this particular case, it would require research. Hamilton Township does not have electronic copies of police reports where a string of text can be searched to compile records. Therefore, I am sorry but your OPRA request is denied as we are not required by law to research files to figure out which records, if any, might be responsive to the request (See Donato v. Twp. of Union).
