Good afternoon Mr. J Ader,

The Gurnee Police Department is in receipt of the FOIA request that you
emailed to the Village of Gurnee last week that is asking for several
documents and items with the Flock Safety Program.

You should have received an email from the GovQA platform welcoming you
and asking for you to complete your account, we will be using the GovQA
platform or portal to process your request, so upon its completion you
will receive emails and links for documents from there. The emails
should have come from an GURNEEIL Support gurneeil@govqa.com.

The reason for today's email - which will also be sent via GovQA- is to
ask for more clarification and understanding on the line item of your
request stating "all emails sent (through this year) mentioning "Flock
Safety" and/or "ALPR".

With the help of the Village of Gurnee's I.S. Division, a search has
started for emails and the initial findings have shown there are over
2600 emails that include "Flock Safety" or "ALPR". The amount of emails
located is a voluminous and unduly burdensome amount and the review will
not be able to be complete in the initial five day response for FOIA
processing. Due to this review and the impact on day to day operations,
I will be filing and extension for 5 additional business days. The
notice of extension is attached, you will also receive the extension
notice via GovQA.

Additionally, it would be helpful if you narrowed the scope of your
request further by providing additional information sought so we can
assist you better in locating the information or responsive documents
that you are seeking. While it is the duty of the public body to respond
appropriately and produce materials, the public body can only do so when
the requester provides clear guidance on category of information
requested, especially when dealing with a classification of records that
is as voluminous as emails.
