Thank you very much, Ms. Barnes and Mr. Werner, for responding. Which state agency maintains the archived email records for former Gov. Sonny Perdue?

Dear Ms. Barnes,

I reached out to the Georgia Archives as suggested, and they pointed me to the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies. Though the library has many relevant records in its George Ervin Perdue collection, they do not have former Gov. Perdue's personal email records. This is what they had to say:

"At the time that we received the official papers of Governor Perdue we did not receive his personal email and we understood that the Governor’s office retained those files. I do not know the current status of these emails, but you might contact the governor’s office of the current administration and inquire."

If the email records are no longer in the possession of the Office of the Governor, can you confirm the office location and date that they were delivered?

From: Barnes, Rhonda

The Deal Administration did not play a role in the archiving of records generated by the Perdue Administration. As such, we do not have additional information regarding the location of such records or if they remain in existence.
