Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
A log of public records requests submitted to the Department of Natural Resources that lists the date of request, the requester's name, the requester's organizational affiliation, a description of the request and the date the request was filled. Ideally I would like this information for the period from 2004 to the present.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, and is made in the process of academic research and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Mr. Peterson,
This message responds to your open records request received by the Department of Natural Resources ("DNR") by mail on October 19, 2015 in which you requested to inspect a log of public records requests from 2004 to the present. DNR does not maintain a comprehensive or department-wide log of open records requests of the type you describe in your request. Presently, open records requests may be received orally or in writing by any employee of the Department, and there is no single office or person tasked with monitoring each request received by the Department.
After a search of our records, Department personnel have located the attached files which may respond to your request. They include a record reflecting all correspondence received by our Wildlife Resources Division ("WRD") from 2008 to the present, including open records requests. Similar records, which may include logs for years 2004 through 2007, are presently in storage units (i.e., "Pods") at WRD headquarters in Social Circle, Georgia and could not be accessed or identified in time for this response. WDR personnel anticipate that those logs, if in existence, should be located and produced by the conclusion of next week. Once identified, they will be forwarded to you via email. Also attached to this message is a log of open records requests for fiscal years 2015 and 2016 maintained by our Law Enforcement Division ("LED"). Prior to FY 2015, logs were not maintained by LED. No other offices or divisions of DNR were able to locate or identify logs of open records requests.
