Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

-Any informational and educational materials distributed in correctional facilities about housing options available to inmates post-release
-Any currently valid policies/procedures detailing Department reentry services specific to accessing housing options post-release
-Any statistical reports detailing admission and release trends from between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017
-Any statistical reports detailing recidivism data from between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017
-Any statistical reports regarding inmates' housing status prior to and following commitment to the Department from between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017

Please provide materials from all state correctional facilities and on a rolling basis, as they become available.

The purpose of this correspondence is to respond to your Open Records Act requests received by the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) on October 26, 2018. GDC has reviewed your requests and determined the following:

Requests:

1. Any informational and educational materials distributed in correctional facilities about housing options available to inmates post-release.
2. Any currently valid policies/procedures detailing Department reentry services specific to accessing housing options post-release.
3. Any statistical reports detailing admission and release trends from between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
4. Any statistical reports detailing recidivism data from between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
5. Any statistical reports regarding inmates' housing status prior to and following commitment to the Department from between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.

Response:

1. Attached is the Reentry Handbook and Reentry Resource Manual that are available for offenders detailing among other things some housing options available to them.

5. GDC does not track offenders housing status prior to and following commitment to the Department. However, also on our public website under the Inmate Statistical Profile there is information about the Home County - self reported at entry to prison. http://gdc.ga.gov/Research/Monthly_Profile_all_inmates.
