Your recent email to Betsy Theroux making a request under the laws of Georgia pertaining to open records has been forwarded to me for response.

In response to your request, the General Assembly and its offices are not subject to Georgia laws pertaining to open records. Institute for Justice v. Kemp, et al., 2016CV281578 (Fulton Co. Superior Ct., Sept. 20, 2017); see Coggin v. Davey, 233 Ga. 407 (1975) (General Assembly is not an "agency" within the meaning of the open meeting laws); O.C.G.A. Sec. 50-18-70(b) ("agency" under open records laws has the same meaning as under open meetings laws).
