Thanks for sending this, however, much of what I requested was not included in the document you sent. You sent the total number and types of use of force from 2013-17 combined, while I requested that these data be separated by year (so it should be the number of use of force incidents and types of force used for each year separately: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and for 2017). Similarly, I requested the following information that was not included at all in the response (which should also be separated by year):
-The total number of people that police used force against, between 2013-2017 (separated by year).
-The total number of police use of force complaints reported between 2013-2017 (separated by year).
-The total number of police use of force complaints sustained between 2013-2017 (separated by year).

I look forward to seeing the revised response. Thanks!

-Sam

Mr. Sinyangwe,

This e-mail is being written in response to your Appeal for Public Record Request for;

1. The total number of police use of force incidents, by type of force used, between 2013-2017 (separated by year).
2. The total number of people that police used force against, between 2013-2017 (separated by year).
3. The total number of police use of force complaints reported between 2013-2017 (separated by year).
4. The total number of police use of force complaints sustained between 2013-2017 (separated by year).
I received your APPEAL you emailed to the City of Fullerton inquiring into the above referenced matter. After searching our database, I was able to gather and attach the type of information you are seeking by year as requested for 2013-2017, see attached documents.
Your APPEAL stated you did not receive Total number of people that police used force against between 2013-2017, Total number of police use of force complaints reported between 2013-2017 and Total number of police use of force complaints sustained between 2013-2017. Please see below as it was included in my original response.
In response to your four enumerated requests, refer to the attached documents for the total number of UOF (Use Of Force) by type for 2013-2017. The total number of police UOF complaints reported between 2013-2017 is three. One in 2015 and two in 2017
As to number two of your request, number of people that police used force against, we do not maintain that information. As to number four of your request, total number of police use of force complaints sustained between 2013-2017, we had no sustained complaints for UOF from 2013-2017.

Sincerely,

Sgt. Matt Rowe
