The Texas Education Agency (TEA), Office of Investigations, Division of Educator Certification and Standards provides the administrative functions of the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). As required by the Texas Education Code section 21.041(b)(7), SBEC has adopted rules providing for disciplinary proceedings and investigations of educator misconduct or criminal history, including 19 Texas Administrative Code section 249.14(a) which authorizes TEA to obtain and investigate information regarding such allegations or criminal history information. As such, all documents provided by the District in response to your request must remain confidential and protected between governmental bodies.
