From: Todd Feathers
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act , I hereby request the following records:
Copies of the "Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification" forms submitted for the years 2009-2013 to the Department of Justice. The DOJ requires any law enforcement agency that participates in its equitable sharing program for asset forfeiture proceeds to submit these forms on an annual basis.
I request that all fees be waived first and foremost because I am a journalist -- employed by MuckRock and the Boston Globe -- and intend to use any pertinent information I receive as a result of this request to educate the public on the DOJ's equitable sharing program.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Todd Feathers

To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on July 29, 2014. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
Thank you for your help.

Mr. Feathers,
I cannot locate the below request in our tracking system. Do you have a reference number for it? It would look something like W0#####-072914 if you have it. If you submitted your request directly through the City's online portal via the City's homepage, you should have received a system-generated acknowledgment providing you with the reference number.
Alternatively, how did you submit your request to the City if not through the portal as I show no record of receiving it? I searched our system by name, company, location, e-mail address and even checked line by line through every request we received on July 29th, and I do not see it.
If you'd like, I can enter your request for today and get the ball rolling. Just let me know.

Mr. McClendon,
Sorry for the confusion. I'd submitted the request to publicinformation@fortworthtexas.gov, which is the records contact we have for the police department. It looks like that's probably not the way to go about it, though.
I'd prefer not to use the portal, only because I use a tracking system that helps me handle the numerous records requests I submit. But if that's how you handle requests I understand and I'd be happy to submit through the portal.
Let me know what works best for you, and thanks for reaching out.
Best,
Todd Feathers

Mr. Feathers,
At this point, since we were unable to locate your request, all we can do is enter it in our portal and if you have the original request from July 29th which shows the date stamp and email address you sent the request to here at the City and we can show that you did indeed send it to us on that date, we will back date the request, however, I do not see that information in your email below.
Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions or need assistance,
