Pursuant to Florida's Sunshine Law (Fla. Stat. secs. 119.01 to 119.15 (1995)), I hereby request the following records:

All maintenance records for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Mobile Crime Lab from Jan 2006 - January 2013 and all trip tickets and trip logs for deployments during that time period.

Please include all calibration and certification records and the instruction manual for the CrimeScope (CS-16-400).

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

Mr. Purvis,

Per your public records request, we have attached the Mobile Crime Lab Maintenance History and the Mobile Crime Lab Driver Log. A second and third e-mail will follow with Parts 1 and 2 of the Crime Scope Manual.

We have no records responsive to the calibration and certification records; however the manual does contain some quality control paperwork. It is included in your request.
