To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:

All documents, emails, and related material that references and holds information about the states unemployment system. This includes but is not limited to Ron DeSantis’ emails, DEO emails, all Deloitte consulting contracts, payments/expenses, descriptions/purpose, and all details regarding the work by any agency or company that is related to FL DEO and unemployment. I understand this is a very large request but due to the nature and costs of the current unemployment system and failure thereof it is of absolute necessity you comply and fulfill to the best of your ability. For now I would like to prioritize all information that has occurred in current year 2020; meaning any emails, contracts, documents, etc. that are not dated 2020 do not need to be included at this time.

Due to the nature and repercussions of Florida’s extreme inability to fulfill unemployment claims, I believe this request is entitled to being expedited as the health and safety of Floridians, a reason required for expediting, is obviously applicable at this time - hundreds of thousands claim to be without unemployment and for months the Governor and agencies still fail to provide any remedies. Also, due to high concern of fraudulent behavior that has occurred and may still be occurring it is not only reasonable but necessary this request is fulfilled IMMEDIATELY and with no costs for the people have already been burdened enough.

Thank you for your help,
Basel

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Sincerely,

BaselOwls

From: Executive Office of the Governor of Florida

Good afternoon,

As stated below, the Governor's Office of Open Government is in receipt of your public records request. As written, this appears to be a request for all records related, in any way, to the state unemployment system. This would include emails from constituents, media inquiries, etc. Our office anticipates this request yielding a large number of items and being subject to a cost estimate, which may be significant. Can you please clarify, with specificity, the records you are seeking? Providing search terms, names of employees you believe to be the custodians of the records, and/or a narrowed date range would aid us in our search.

Additionally, our office can only produce records in which the Executive Office of the Governor is the custodian of. The Department of Economic Opportunity should be contacted directly for records in which that department is the custodian of. I have included the appropriate contact information below.

Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO)

(850) 245-7140

Please let our office know how you would like to proceed with this request.
Thank you.
