Thank you for your email. The Florida Department of Corrections is in receipt of your public records request. This request has been assigned and the analyst within the Public Records Unit is reviewing your request, determining any and all custodians that may exist within the department. Once the custodians and scope of your request is defined, we will advise you of your Public Records Request tracking number (PRR #), along with the identified custodians and their timeframes in which to expect a response, in accordance with Department procedure.
If records responsive to your request are determined to exist, you may be provided with a cost estimate. This is an estimate of the cost to prepare and provide the records requested. If the final records exceed that cost estimate, you will be provided a supplemental invoice for the additional cost. Following receipt of payment, records will be prepared for release in accordance with Ch. 119 and s. 945.10, F.S. Due to the volume of requests received by each custodian, it could take approximately 3-6 weeks to receive a response from one or all custodians. This office will facilitate your request in order to ensure that you receive the most expedient response possible.
If you have any questions, please contact the Public Records Unit, or the Public Records Administrator, Jamie Scarbrough, at (850) 717-3605 or via email at CO.PublicRecords@FDC.MyFlorida.com<mailto:CO.PublicRecords@FDC.MyFlorida.com> .
***Please note, due to concerns surrounding the current pandemic and the safety of our staff, the Department of Corrections has instituted teleworking by staff in this office. This is causing an increased delay in response times. Requests are processed in the order received. Please be patient as we work to serve you in a reasonable timeframe, while doing our best to keep staff safe and abide by the current CDC guidelines for social distancing. Serving the public continues to be a priority and we are working to prevent unnecessary delays in processing your request.***

ATTENTION: December 1, 2020, this email account will be deactivated and no longer accept emails. Please read the information below for instructions on submitting Public Records Requests to Florida Department of Corrections.
Thank you for your email. You will now submit your requests online by visiting the Public Records Portal at https://floridadoc.govqa.us/WEBAPP/<https://floridadoc.govqa.us/WEBAPP/_rs/(S(ymiklwmcvu4bxhvqns0hb0gn))/SupportHome.aspx?sSessionID=>
The Florida Department of Corrections has launched a new records request portal that customers will need to use to submit new requests and monitor the progress of existing requests. Each requester will have a user id that is their email address, and will then create a password to access the portal by logging into their secure account to access these options. This portal allows the Public Records Unit to better manage requests submitted and respond in a reasonable timeframe to those requests. The portal will automatically assign a public records tracking number upon submission of the request and you will be emailed the information. We are no longer issuing the old PRR numbers that were manually issued by this unit in the past. Once your request has been processed, you will be issued an invoice, and be provided the options for payment, which includes the ability to pay online with a credit card.
Due to the current volume of requests being received by this office, it could take approximately 3-4 weeks to receive a response from one or all custodians. If you have any questions, please contact the consultant assigned to your request by emailing a response to the notice you receive from the portal. You may also contact the Public Records Unit and request to speak to your consultant by retrieving the consultant’s name from your email notice, or contact the Public Records Administrator, Jamie Scarbrough, at (850) 412-2664. You can reach Consultant Dianne Houpt by calling (850) 717-3615, Consultant Christie Smith by calling (850) 717-3595, or Consultant Raymona Washington by calling (850) 717-3439.

Your request will be assigned to the relevant department(s) and custodians to locate the information you seek and determine the volume of responsive records and any costs associated with satisfying your request. You will be contacted about the availability and/or provided with copies of the records in question. If there is a cost associated with your request, prior to any records being prepared for release, you will need to make payment on the invoice that is issued in response to the responsive records. Once payment is received, the responsive records will be prepared for release, including the redaction of information that is exempt from public record. This process will be done in order of payment receipt.
You can monitor the progress of your request at the link below and you'll receive an email when you have information to review or respond to, as well as at each step of the request through completion.
