Policies, procedures and/or training documents pertaining to the execution of death row inmates.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Ms. Hopkins:
In response to your request for “policies and procedures” that pertain “to the execution of death row inmates”, the Department’s Execution by Lethal Injection Procedure may be viewed at the following link:

As to your request for “training documents pertaining to the execution of death row inmates[,]” records responsive to your request are confidential and exempt from the provisions of section 119.071(1), Florida Statutes, and section 24(a), Article I, of the Florida Constitution. These records relate to the Department’s statutorily mandated duties under chapter 922, Florida Statutes, and pursuant to sections 945.10(1)(e) and (g), Florida Statutes, “[i]nformation which if released would jeopardize a person’s safety” and “[i]nformation which identifies an executioner, or any person prescribing, preparing, compounding, dispensing, or administering a lethal injection” is confidential and exempt from public records disclosure. Additionally, records responsive to your request for “training documents” are records “relating directly to the physical security of an institution” or records “revealing security systems of an institution” and are confidential and exempt from public records disclosure pursuant to section 119.071(3), Florida Statutes.
